Leading Physical Therapy Specialist Serving ‘Santa Barbara, Goleta, Montecito and beyond’
Kineci offers excellent physical therapy services to help people reduce pain and improve their daily functioning.
At Kineci we work with people all along the Movement Spectrum. Very often people seek our help for their physical therapy needs to recover from acute injuries and pain, rehabilitate and recover after surgeries, and/or for long lasting chronic and complex body problems, and they get better. Everybody with whom we work have movement, function, and performance goals they would like to achieve. That is what we do – we help people find relief from pain and the freedom to do what they love in comfort and confidence.
Dr. Steve is the only dual-Fellow physical therapist in Santa Barbara, which makes his skill set unique. He holds a Fellowship in Applied Functional Science from the Gray Institute which is a deep study into the biomechanics of the body and kinetic chain. He also holds a Fellowship in the American Academy of Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapists which was a deep study in differential diagnosis, advanced manual therapy techniques, and the pathophysiology of healing and injuries.

Do You Take My Insurance?
We are glad you asked. Fortunately, we do NOT ( contract with… ) insurance.
Insurance companies limit the number of visits, the duration of each visit, and the services you are eligible to receive. Their focus is on treating symptoms and limiting services; my priority is on fixing causes and optimizing the value you receive.
Our education and training is highly specialized and your insurance companies are not willing to pay for this advanced form of care.
A core value belief we hold is that Your Health should be Your Choice.
- Your health care decisions should not be made by administrators who do not know you and your needs.
- We cannot help you to the best of our abilities if we are limited by your insurance company dictating your care, who you can see, how much time you can spend with them, what procedures you can receive, and what body parts you can have treated.
Regarding insurance, upon completion of your care plan, you may request a receipt that itemizes the services you received and the payments you made, called a ‘super-bill’. You may be able to submit that to your insurance company for reimbursement, except for Medicare.
Medicare insurance nor secondary insurance with Medicare will not pay for the specialty services we provide.
What Are Your Rates?
$257 for an initial 60 minute appointment. All appointments following are $227 for 60 minutes. Packages are also available, contact us for more information.
Do You Offer Second Opinions?
Yes, we do offer second opinions. Our approach is rooted in understanding the biomechanics of the body, movement, rehabilitation, and orthopedics.
In fact, we believe you should routinely ask for second opinions so you can make the best informed decisions for your own health.
